Work in Progress
Redevelopment efforts are in full swing in downtown Decatur. You may notice many of the current projects such as streetscape projects and the development of pocket parks, but there are many projects going on that are not as easily recognizable. We have developed the Work in Progress section on our website as a way to explain and share the exciting projects that are happening downtown.
Highlighted accomplishments from the 1st Year Annual Report:
- Construction on the Arts School is underway.
- Streetscape and other types of grants have been awarded.
- One pocket park has been completed, with others being developed.
- Two committees have been developed to help spur loft development and retail recruitment.
- The Loft Committee is researching the requirements for the development of loft properties.
- DDRA was awarded a matching funds grant to start a retail analysis of the downtown area.
