Retail
The retail action team was established to help encourage the development of new retail and restaurants to downtown Decatur. The mission of the team is: Set policy and develop a practical plan to facilitate existing retail and recruit new businesses to downtown Decatur. This chairperson for this team is Jason Gantt.

- How other cities approach codes/building department
- How other cities approach incentives
- How other cities approach marketing
Team Outline:
- Assess existing retail and develop a list of desired new retail needs for recruitment
- Assess developable space in the downtown area (building and empty lots)
- Study parking and traffic
- Set up a marketing plan
- Set up a mentoring board through the new entrepreneurial center for new businesses
- Put together a plan for working with developers
- Review the areas of expertise for the committee to make up
